6 Reasons to Keep Clam and Sailgate this College Football Season

One of our favorite times of year returns… sailgating season! Let’s face it Seattle, we’re spoiled. We have an incredible college football team and a beautiful stadium along Lake Washington to cheer on our Huskies. Nothing beats arriving to the stadium on game day by boat and if you’ve never tried it, this season is the perfect time to experience sailgating. Still need convincing? Here are six reasons to float up to the next Husky home game.

It’s Tradition

Families have arrived by boat to Husky games for decades. Now, it’s just part of the experience of attending home games on Saturdays. Fans have voyaged from as close as Mercer Island to as far away as Alaska. The energy in the harbor is electric, exciting and unequaled.

Husky Stadium Has Its Own Harbor

Speaking of the harbor, the Husky Harbor helps fans with their own personal sailgating. The harbor can dock up to 150 private boats. Many of which are Husky themed with names relating to the team and painted the gorgeous purple and gold.

You Can Charter Boats to the Game

Don’t have your own boat? Keep Clam because there are plenty of charter services that have special deals and gameday packages for fans, but none better than Ivar’s. Ivar’s Salmon House has partnered with Argosy Cruises to offer brunch at its full-service restaurant along North Lake Union, which includes a leisurely round-trip cruise to Husky Stadium for only $85. This has become a popular offering over the past decade, so be sure to reserve your spot today if you want to experience the magic of sailgating.

Parking is Simple (and Free)

There’s no need to worry about parking your car on gameday when you sailgate at Ivar’s Salmon House! With Seattle’s growth and increased traffic density, parking spots are disappearing or premium priced – especially near the stadium. Of course, if you take your own boat, you leave your car at home but when you arrive at the Salmon House to take the scenic Argosy cruise to the game, you get to park for free right across the road from the restaurant.

Stadiums on the Water are a Unique Experience

Husky Stadium is one of only three college stadiums on the water. Plus it was recently named one of the top five of all stadiums on the water by Men’s Journal. Husky Stadium is nationally recognized for its beauty and its fans. Come see what you’re missing!

The Views are Unparalleled

One of the biggest reasons for Husky Stadium recognition is thanks to our beautiful Cascade and Olympic mountain range views. Between the views of the water, the views on the horizon, and the view of the game from your seats, sailgating to Husky Stadium can’t be beat!
